Zusammenfassung / Abstract
Prekarität bestimmt die heutige Ökonomie national und global. Sie öffnet ebenso Freiräume wie sie neuartige Zwänge schafft, indem sie die Individuen als rational kalkulierende Unternehmer steuert. Das ist ein Freiheitsregime mit einer dunklen Seite, das im Falle des Scheiterns wie auch für die Kategorie der ‚Überflüssigen' das Gefängnis bereithält. Sozialstaatliche Absicherungen wären aber nicht nur ökonomisch rationaler, sondern würden auch einen anderen Begriff von Freiheit provozieren.

Precariousness determines today's economy on a national and global scale. It offers spaces of freedom as well as it generates new constraints by governing individuals as rational calculating entrepreneurs. This regime of freedom covers a dark side, with prison in case of failure and for the surplus of the labour force. Expenditure on welfare would be more rational in a strictly economic sense, and result in a different idea of freedom.
